ASP.NET

Fluent in c# and confident working with enterprise scale systems. Previous sites have included high traffic "storefronts" receiving 1.5 million unique visitors a month. Application performance and security are of particular interest.

Microsoft SQL Server

I have worked with SQL Server since version 6.5, through 7.0, 2000 and now 2005/8. Past projects have included 1/2 TeraByte databases with billions of rows. I am a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) and believe a well thought-out database is as important to the success of an application as the design of its business layer.

HTML, AJAX & JavaScript

I have worked with several 'AJAX frameworks': prototype, ExtJS, MS Ajax and jQuery.
My work with the web predates off the shelf controls, so I am familiar with the underlying technologies.

Design

Although not a graphic designer, I make good looking applications using templates or by crafting HTML by hand. All my work is tested on IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari on PC, Mac and Ubuntu Linux.
I am experienced in working with designers and "wiring up" their HTML into an application.
